GK LAUNCH SERVICES AND LAVOCHKIN ASSOCIATION SIGNED A CONTRACT FOR FREGAT
GK Launch Services and Lavochkin Research & Production Association (NPOL) signed a contract for manufacturing, LV adaptation and delivery to the Baikonur Cosmodrome of the Fregat Upper Stage.
This upper stage will be used for the first commercial mission of GK Launch Services, expected in late 2019-early 2020, to orbit CAS500-1 satellite.
NPOL will carry out a significant scope of work on satellite adaptation.
Fregat is a unified upper stage used in combination with Soyuz-2.1a carrier rocket to insert the satellite into the low Earth orbit and to provide required attitude and stabilization to the space head module during powered and coast flights.
Established by the Roscosmos decision and in furtherance of its strategy to develop commercial launch services, GK Launch Services is an operator authorized to conclude contracts for rendering commercial launch services to satellites with the use of Soyuz-2 family launch vehicles from the Russian launch sites.
Lavochkin Research & Production Association (NPOL) is a leading enterprise in the space domain that designs, manufactures, and performs the entire test range of the key automated spacecraft for fundamental researches.
